Music Production, Manufacturing and Distribution
Edmondson Communications can assist you in the production and manufacturing
of your new album. We have a vast distribution network that can get
your product to the retail market with great expediency.
Who does Edmondson Communications distribute to?
Edmondson Communications sells directly to (or has sub-distribution
agreements to sell your products to) virtually every record store
in America. By letting us know in advance where your record has the
best chance of selling, you are helping our sales department concentrate
on the cities and markets where your record should be stocked instead
of where it has little chance of selling. We also sell direct to
a large number of chains.
How does Edmondson Communications notify retail buyers of new releases?
A "one sheet" containing all pertinent information concerning
that release is created for each new release. The record label provides
this information to Edmondson Communications. Information provided
must be current and accurate. The biography section must be filled
in with pertinent facts – not hype – about the artist
(radio airplay, tour dates, key markets where radio play and/or sales
demand is anticipated,
collaborations with other hot selling artists, hometown, etc.) Your
completed one sheet will be used by our sales staff and the buyers
that represent all of the record stores in the country, along with
all sub-distributors. It is the repsonsibility of each label to promote
their release to independent record companies. Since we only get
one chance to sell your new release to retail buyers, it is critical
that we have as much information as possible. In order for your record
to be assigned a release date (street date) and be included in our
new release book for solicitation to the retail buyers, you must
comply with our production and marketing calendar.
